Turf
17 MAY 2024
The opening of the two golf course has finally arrived. After Le Maître, it was La Bête’s turn. So, the season has officially begun for both our clubs, and I hope you enjoy the courses as much as I do maintaining them.
At Le Maître, the maintenance team has returned to their routine and last year's momentum. The grassed areas have already been cut at the same frequency as summer maintenance. This week's projects included vertical mowing in several directions on the practice deck. We seeded it to give it more density. Fertilization has been carried out and we will continue to improve this playing surface. Once a week, until it opens in early June, we'll be working on one half of the tee box at a time. This means that for a few hours, part of the mats will not be accessible in the morning. And we'll do the second part the following day. Thank you for your understanding.
We also continued work on the greens. The hydraulic leak on green #16 has been repaired and decontaminated. Hand seeding of the round damaged areas on the greens has also begun. Every day, you'll see a worker on a green pecking away at those little circles to give it the maximum chance of closing quickly.
On La Bête side, everything was done to ensure the best possible turf conditions for the opening. In terms of the week's projects, sod was laid on hole #9 using giant rollers. This will be followed by hydroseeding in the non-sod areas a little later. The new cart path will soon be paved.
Upcoming maintenance.
- Fertilization of greens and tees
- Improvement of Le Maître driving range
- Hydro-seeding at La Bête
