Dear Members,
With the first half of the season behind us, this is the perfect opportunity to take a moment to provide a quick update and a look forward to our fall season.
With a full membership and plenty of sunny warm weather it will come as no surprise that are total rounds, and specifically home club member rounds, are at record highs at both courses. The two main reason (besides good weather) for this increase; our membership count and the increase in rounds played per member. We will continue to manage the tee sheet in a way that prioritizes home club member access as we move towards the reduced sunlight days of September and October. We will keep you informed as we adjust our guest / associate club member restrictions this fall.
Our early summer member survey results are in and serve to confirm my own evaluation of the club. First off, thank you to all our members who took the time to complete the survey. The highlight is the appreciated improvement of our food and beverage service, and the enjoyment / experience offered at La Bête. The sore point is expectedly and rightly, course conditions at Le Maître.
I acknowledge that Le Maître’s course conditions are below our expectations. Please know that efforts, additional resources and some long hours by an engaged superintendent and turf team are being invested to improve the course.
Alot of members have offered their help in different ways to assist us. Although greatly appreciated we want each member to first enjoy their membership and look after the courses by respecting course etiquette; leaving the courses in better shape than when you started your round and encouraging other members to do likewise.
There is however another very important way that members can assist us in our efforts to improve the club and both courses: employee referral! If you know of anyone who is looking for work and capable of either doing course maintenance work or service work at the clubhouse we would happily add them to our team. The fall season provides us with the best days to play golf and to grow grass, but the Mont-Tremblant labor market and the loss of our student workforce is always a challenge.
Thank you to all members for your continued support of the club and know that we care greatly about your overall membership enjoyment. We do have quite a bit of work to do before we can be satisfied, and I look forward to this challenge.
