No rest for the weary as the 2019/2020 PGA Tour season begins next week.
If the Majors seemed to blow by quickly this season, and the RBC Canadian Open’s new June date came up on us fast, and the end of the Year playoffs and TOUR Championship was a bit of a blur – you are in good Company. Last week we acknowledged a couple points of view on the new season calendar.
But that’s enough looking back because with a quick end to one season comes a fast start to another.
The 2019/2020 PGA Tour schedule kicks off next week at The Greenbrier.
Before the wrap-around schedule was adopted, this time of year caught a nickname called the Silly Season. Nothing silly about what gets going next week. These events – A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier, Sanderson Farms Championship, Safeway Open, Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, the Houston Open, and the like, are full blown TOUR events, not the made for TV compilations of the past.
The events mentioned above have 500 FedEx points available to the winner. Same as the AT&T Pebble Beach, The Honda, the Arnold Palmer Invite, the Memorial and most all tournaments outside of majors, the Players and WGC Events.
So if you thought last season and this one-week off-season went quickly, it's because we were going somewhere. To next year! Just a bit earlier than we used to.
