Turf

05 JUN 2026

Over the past few weeks, many of you have asked us about the damaged areas on the course. We would therefore like to take a moment to explain the situation and the steps we are taking.

The damage you are currently seeing stems from a white grubs infestation that occurred last summer. The larvae developed at the end of the season, and the first signs appeared in August and September. However, it is not just the grubs that are causing the damage visible today.

In fact, the main culprits are skunks, raccoons, and crows, which turn over the turf to feed on the larvae beneath the surface. When these animals discover an abundant food source, they can cause significant damage to fairways, tees, and certain areas of the turf in just a few nights.

Several members are wondering why we didn’t treat the problem sooner. The answer is simple: in the fall and early spring, the larvae have reached a stage where available treatments are not effective. Intervening at that time would have yielded very few results. We therefore opted for a responsible and effective approach by waiting for the optimal time to act.

Over the next few weeks, we will apply preventive treatments targeting the next generation of grubs. This strategy aims to protect the turf for the coming months and seasons by significantly reducing the risk of new infestations.

At the same time, our team is continuing repair work. Depending on the affected areas, we will proceed with seeding, topdressing, and installing sod where necessary to accelerate recovery and ensure a quick return to quality playing conditions.

As always, our goal is to make the best decisions for the long-term health of the course. Certain situations require a targeted approach and timely intervention for optimal results. Rest assured that we are monitoring the situation closely and that the entire team is working passionately to provide a course we can all be proud of.
