The arrival of September quietly marks the beginning of a new phase on our courses. The nights are now cooler, the mornings take on a different feel, and the first colors are slowly beginning to appear in the trees. It’s also an important time for us, as conditions are becoming particularly favorable for carrying out several projects that will enhance the quality of the courses over the coming weeks and throughout the upcoming season.
A Week Focused on Preparation
The week was relatively quiet in terms of major projects, but it allowed us to thoroughly prepare our equipment and team for the aeration operations that will begin in the coming days.
Despite a few rain showers, we were able to complete the topdressing on the greens of both courses. This operation, carried out regularly throughout the season, helps improve the quality of the playing surface, maintain good firmness on the greens, and promote healthier turf growth.
Starting next week, we will also begin aerating certain fairways at Le Maître. We will work on about 2 to 3 holes each morning to minimize disruption to your round as much as possible. The late morning and early afternoon will be primarily devoted to cleanup operations, particularly using leaf blowers.
Our weekly maintenance operations will also continue as usual. We’ll take advantage of this period to work on some tee decks in order to correct some surfaces, improve leveling, and promote better vegetation cover.
The coming week will therefore be primarily devoted to preparing these surfaces for and carrying out the more extensive work that will follow.
Fall is a time when work doesn’t slow down, it simply takes on a different form. Every task we complete now helps us prepare courses that are more solid, more uniform, and better equipped for what lies ahead.
