It’s already mid-season! This is a good time to take stock of the condition of our courses. Despite the challenges we’ve faced over the past few weeks, I’m very pleased with how Le Maître and La Bête are coming along. Conditions continue to improve thanks to a dedicated team that works every day with a very specific goal in mind: to provide the highest-quality playing surfaces possible.
Improving the courses remains our top priority. Over the past few days, we’ve completed landscaping work around the tees on holes 5 and 17 to enhance their appearance and durability.
At Le Maître, aeration of the tees is now underway. This work is accompanied by light topdressing and seeding to promote improved surfaces, rapid recovery and better turf.
At La Bête, we will be aerating the greens next week using small solid tines. This procedure, which causes minimal disruption to play, improves air circulation within the soil profile and promotes better water infiltration to the roots. The same treatment will be performed on the greens at Le Maître immediately after the club championship, to maintain firm, healthy, and high-performing surfaces for the remainder of the season.
Additionally, we are still awaiting the final diagnosis regarding the transfer pumps at Le Maître. This equipment is essential to our irrigation system, and we are doing everything possible to restore full water transfer capacity as soon as possible.
Upcoming Work
- Fertilizing the fairways and tees to support summer growth.
- Aerating the greens using solid-tube aerators.
- Continuing to aerate the tees.
Each intervention is planned with the goal of improving the quality of the playing surfaces while ensuring the long-term health of the courses.
