Course improvement work is continuing successfully. Despite the high temperatures and lack of rainfall, our teams are doing a good job of maintaining and improving playing conditions.
Fertilization of the fairways and tees has been completed on both courses. At the same time, hand watering continues to maintain a consistent moisture level on the greens.
At La Bête course, we have installed large rolls of blue grass at hole No. 9. We have also finished seeding around the bunker at hole No. 4, which will improve the appearance and durability of these areas.
Japanese beetles are back.
As they do every summer, Japanese beetles have appeared on the course. Their presence can be striking when they emerge from the ground and fly in large numbers, but there is no cause for concern.
All bentgrass areas have been treated preventively. This means that when the beetles lay their eggs, the larvae will be eliminated before they can damage the turf.

The Japanese beetle is an insect whose adults feed primarily on the leaves of various ornamental plants. However, it is primarily the larvae known as “white grubs”that can cause significant damage to lawns by feeding on grass roots. Thanks to preventive treatments applied to the courses, we effectively limit the risk of damage while preserving the quality of the playing surfaces.
