Dear Members, 

On behalf of the staff of Le Maître and La Bête golf clubs, thank you for completing this summer’s member survey.  Exactly fifty percent of your peers completed the survey this year. It's an important tool that gives us the confidence to continue doing what makes your experience enjoyable and to focus our effort in areas we can improve based on your feedback. 

Survey highlights 

Given that I believe it is a primary objective of a golf club membership we are happy that you have highlighted the general friendliness and camaraderie within the club.  That the relationships that are built and maintained within the membership is very much recognized and appreciated.  

The kindness and attentiveness of the staff was also reflected in the results with some popular employee names being singled out in the comment section.   

Members also appreciate having a second quality course only 5 minutes away.  La Bête’s layout, access and course conditions were noted highlights.  That the overall member experience at La Bête is enjoyable and a valued addition to the Le Maître membership.    

Areas for improvement 

Although it received a 13% year over year improvement in satisfaction course conditions remain an area of concern.  Except for the greens the playing surfaces at Le Maitre must continue to be improved along with attentiveness to the presentation and detailing on the course.  Members did recognize that some improvements have been made, that we are heading in the right direction but that the conditions need to progress faster.  Based on our own evaluations and confirmed by the survey we will be putting together an ambitious plan to build on our recent success and double our efforts to improve this vital aspect of your club experience.  

Our food and beverage services were also noted as not meeting members expectations.  That both the service and menu selections required attention.  The survey was done in July, and we have since made important changes and have received some positive feedback for improvement made since mid-summer.  We will continue to review all aspect of this service area throughout the offseason as we make the necessary adjustments to take advantage of this high potential service of the club.  

The tee time reservation system along with tee time access to Le Maitre was noted as less than ideal.  Members would like more transparency in tee sheet reservations mainly when tee times access is challenging.  We do have periods of high demand that our system of first come first serve make it a challenge to satisfy all members at their ideal time.  We have adjusted tee sheet protections for home club members at both Le Maitre and La Bête to maximize access.  We will review tee sheet demand and rounds profile this offseason to ensure that we best make available home club access to home club members.   

We are very grateful for your support and the feedback from the survey.  The engagement of the members to help us improve your experience is a testament to your sense of pride and belonging to the club, thank you.
