Demo putters

Is your putter not behaving to your liking? You have had the same putter since 1984? You averaging 42 putts per round? Can’t make a 3 footer? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, it’s time to try 2024 technology! The week of July 8 to 14 we'll have a bag full of demo putters of all Odyssey models for you to try out on the putting green or on the course! Stop in the golf shop to see the selection.

Let's talk about pace of play

According to member surveys, the playing time of your round of golf is one of the most important aspects of your member experience. We believe that, under normal circumstances, a foursome of golfers should play the Le Maître in 4 hours and 20 minutes or less. Groups of players who play regularly early on mornings are often faster and will play the course in less than 4 hours, which is encouraged.

With this in mind, we will soon be installing two clocks on the course to help you keep to a pace of play that's enjoyable for everyone. The clocks at the #5 tee and the #13 tee will let golfers know exactly how their group is doing against the maximum time target of 4 hours and 20 minutes (including a 5-7 minute stop at the halfway house). As an example, for a group teeing off on #1 at 9:00 am, if the clock on #5 reads 9:00, then they are right on time. If the clock reads 9:07, the group has fallen 7 minutes behind and will know that they need to accelerate the pace of play accordingly. Of course, if the clock reads 8:50, that's great - no need to slow down.

In addition to the clocks that will tell you where your group stands in relation to the 4:20 target, you should always follow the group in front. Although we plan to have a presence on the course to manage pace of play when necessary, a foursome of members should be able to realize for themselves that they are 2 holes behind the group in front of them without a staff member having to alert them. It’s standard golf etiquette, just like repairing ball marks and replacing divots (or filling with sand). What's more, at no time does playing a competitive “matchplay”, or a members league allow a group to take longer - remember, you're playing for fun, not to make a living!

A few tips for speeding up play:

- Don't develop a preshot routine like a PGA Tour player. One practice swing before your shot is enough!

- Be ready when it's your turn to play! If possible, go to your ball while the other players are hitting instead of watching them play.

- When you're over a triple-bogey, pick it up and move on to the next hole...

- Walk fast between shots, we're playing a sport!

Tee-time cancellation policy

In order to make tee-times available to as many members as possible, tee-time cancellations for reasons other than weather must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Tee-time cancellations or changes can be made on LinkLine Online or via the LinkLine call center at 1-800-273-5113. A fee may be charged if a member fails to show up at the reserved time, or if a group is partially or completely absent, or for cancellations made within 24 hours of the reserved time. If you need to cancel a tee-time within 24 hours of the reserved time, the no-show fee can be avoided if other members can use the same tee-time. Please send an e-mail to cancelmytime@clublink.ca so that our Member Services team can coordinate reservations for wait-listed members at the various clubs.
