ClubLink COVID-19 Update
06 MAY 2020
There’s been some encouraging news of late with respect to mitigating the spread of coronavirus. Hopefully this trend continues for the well-being of everyone.
Our Provincial Governments have recently announced a phased approach to reopening the economy and we were pleased to see that golf courses are among those businesses included in the first wave to open. Our courses have wintered very well and our employees are working diligently in preparation for opening, which we anticipate to be sometime within the next two weeks in Ontario. For our Clubs in Quebec, the wait may be a bit longer. We are excited to welcome back Members and guests at all of our Clubs very soon and will advise when it’s possible to book a tee time.
The health and safety of our Members, guests and employees is our number one priority. When the courses open, we will be operating under a number of strict safety precautions, and with limited services. We are planning a phased approach to re-introducing elements of your club experience within our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and as our public health officials advise.
The new SOP is comprehensive and designed to mitigate the risk of Members, guests and employees contracting the coronavirus. Physical distancing, limiting touch points, and elevated cleaning and disinfection processes are the main themes. We’ve collaborated with many other clubs along with provincial and national golf industry associations in development of our SOP. It is our expectation that provincial officials will publish their version of operational guidelines for golf course operators to follow very soon. Once that is released, we will make any edits that are necessary to our SOP and share its full details with you.
Government agencies will be monitoring the newly opened businesses including golf clubs. It will be imperative for everyone to respect the guidelines of our SOP to ensure everyone’s safety and to avoid any future interruption to club operations. We have established a central repository to receive feedback about your experience at our Clubs. If you notice SOP guidelines not being respected, or if you feel there is something we can improve upon, please email us at COVID@clublink.ca. Your feedback is valuable and always appreciated.
We share your excitement about the season ahead and believe that the sport of golf is naturally well-positioned as a safe outdoor activity for everyone. Let’s all work together to stay safe while we enjoy the role golf can play in our lives as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sincerely,
John Finlayson
