A Canuck comeback
31 OCT 2019
For all those PGA Tour players who are always there, consistently in our faces and playing year-in and year-out, there are many that come and go. Professional golf is tough. Change a coach, switch Clubs or mishandle an injury, it doesn’t take much to find yourself going in the wrong direction in World Golf rankings – fast.
For a fun 10 year run, 2009-2018, Ricky Barnes played a minimum of 22 events a year. With 302 starts under his belt and more than 8 Million in career earnings, Ricky is going to be in Murrieta California next week at stage 2 qualifying for the Korn Ferry tour. Tough. And as much as we enjoy that Aussie accent on TV golf coverage, Ian Baker-Finch’s transition from the Claret jug to a seat in the booth was much quicker than he’d have liked. And of course, for more Canadian content, we all would have loved to see another 5-10 years of Mike Weir at his peak.
So we watch hopefully, but cautiously, as Graham DeLaet charts his return. Golfworld has put together a good article. The Beard is Back!
