Turf
22 AUG 2025
Summer isn't over yet, even though for many, vacation is already coming to an end. With the start of the school year, our student teams are heading back to class, leaving a void in our daily operations.
I would like to warmly thank all our students for the remarkable work they have done this summer. Whether it was repairing divots in the fairways or on the tees, mowing problematic natural areas, seeding and topdressing, and many other tasks, they always demonstrated exemplary motivation. Thank you to each and every one of you for your efforts and commitment. Good luck with your studies, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
In addition to daily maintenance, drainage work will be carried out on hole #8 of the Maître course over the next few weeks.
At La Bête, we have also begun installing rubber mats called Traqzmat. These trials are currently being conducted on both courses, and if the results are conclusive, further installations will be planned each year.
Advantages of using Traqmatz to protect turf on a golf course
- Protection against wear and tear
- Protects high-traffic areas (green exits, tee boxes, cart and maintenance vehicle traffic).
- Reduces damage caused by repeated foot traffic, especially in wet conditions or after rain.
- Preservation of turf quality
- Prevents soil compaction, allowing roots to breathe.
- Prevents bare patches and muddy areas, reducing the need for turfing or reseeding.
- Reduced maintenance costs
- Less turf repair work required.
- Extends the life of sensitive natural surfaces.
- Increased safety for golfers
- More uniform and stable surface in high-risk areas.
- Less risk of slips or accidents in high-traffic areas.
- All-season use
- Can remain in place during rainy periods or high-traffic tournaments.
- Some models are draining and can be used even on wet ground.
