The season is inevitably drawing to a close, but the last few days have been excellent and unprecedented for this time of year. The weather has been perfect for playing golf and admiring the beautiful colors of our mountains. This period gives us a whole great perspective on our courses.
With the fine weather, we've been able to finish most of our aerating on both courses. The dry, warm weather allowed us to break down the cores on the fairways. We will have completed this cultural practice in record time this year. I'd like to thank you for your patience and understanding. I know that its inconvenient to play in the debris and dust or see machinery cleaning it all up, it’s a necessary evil if we're to have continued improvements and better-quality surfaces.
However, we were unable to continue building our tee boxes at Le Maître. A few equipment failures stopped us in our tracks. All should be back in order this week.
Over the next few days, we will be doing a lot of leaf clearing on the courses, as well as cutting back shrubs and trees.
La Bête course will close shortly. We will be taking the opportunity to improve a few aspects of the course. Whether it's cleaning up some undergrowth, levelling a few problematic tee boxes or improving areas of deficient irrigation, I'm hoping for mild weather to be able to move these few projects forward as we get the course set for winter.
Upcoming maintenance:
- Fungicide on greens
- Leaf cleaning
- Tree and shrub trimming
- Completing forward tees (Le Maître)
